13personnel.com is a data-driven platform for NFL tight-end analytics. We analyze tight ends across a decade of data (2016-2025), classifying each player into one of three archetypes — Y (Y-slot), U (Utility), or H (H-back) — based on situational usage and alignment metrics.

The 13 Score

The 13 Score is our proprietary ranking metric that contextualizes each tight end's performance within their assigned archetype. It combines receiving, rushing, and efficiency metrics, normalized using within-season percentiles, and adjusted for volume via a logarithmic modifier:

13 Score = Winning Role Score × log10(1 + 9·V/Vmax)

This approach avoids the limitations of box-score proxies and provides a self-calibrating, percentile-based ranking system that remains resilient across data constraints.
